The People That Make it Happen

We are blessed with an incredibly talented, experienced, and dedicated staff. They have boundless passion for the work they do rehabilitating the homeless pets that pass through our shelter.

Collectively, they cover two daily shifts seven days a week. They care for the dogs and cats. They feed, bathe, and medicate. They provide lots and lots of love. We’re proud to introduce them to you.

Lisa Chapman

Lisa Chapman

Staff Member Since 2016

Four is Lisa’s number. She has been with ARP four years, having been hired in 2016. She is the mother of four, Tony, 20, Kaitlyn, 17, and Jayden and Makayla, 13. She has four pets so far, Buck, Lil Bit, Big Daddy, and Mischief.

“I tend to bond more with the problem ‘children’ at our shelter,” she says, “who need a little more time and effort to see their full potential emerge. I like the ones who are jerks—most of the time.”

Kennedy Demeere

Kennedy Demeere

Kennedy joined ARP in the Spring of 2019. She is engaged to be married, with plans for a wedding on July 24, 2020. She has two dogs, Roczen, a border collie, and Rider, a blue heeler. Both were rescued. “My job,” Kennedy says, “is to provide abandoned and neglected dogs with infinite love and care. I also pick up a lot of poop.”

Amberly Fredericks

Amberly is married to John Fredericks and has three beautiful children, JP, Maddie, and Jaxson. Her family also includes two dogs, Bear and Princess, and nine chickens.

“What I love about my job,” she said, “is that I believe every single animal deserves a second chance, whether they are perfect or not. I love watching them learn how to trust people again, learning that most people are good and kind. I love showing them love and caring for them and being able to help find them forever homes.”

Jamie Garrison

Jamie Garrison

Staff Member Since 2020

Jamie joined the ARP team in February of 2020. She is companion to one dog, Porter.

“I love being able to take care of the animals,” she tells us. “The most rewarding part of the job is seeing them to go their fur-ever homes and getting updates on them.”

Kierra Lovelace

Staff Member Since 2020

Kierra joined ARP in January of 2020. She has two dogs, Lotto and Blitz. “I love learning new things at the shelter,” she said, “and seeing the love we can give to the animals. The change from their first day to their last is something very special. Seeing them go to a loving home and the pictures and updates we get afterwards are very rewarding. I’m so happy I get to be a part of that.”

Kaitlyn Vail

Kaitlyn joined ARP in the Spring of 2019. She has a dog named Lil Bit and a gecko named No’me. She tells us, “I love helping all the animals learn to trust humans again and seeing them slowly open up to us. It’s great to see their personalities when they first come in compared to their personalities when they finally get their forever home.”

Mary Weeks

Mary Weeks

Staff Member Since 2018

Mary has been with ARP since September 2018. She has two dogs, Wylie and Tank; four cats, Mizzy, Blanca, Skittles, and Dallas; a Flemish giant rabbit named Digsby, and two rats, Scooter and Peanut.

Mary tells us, “I love being able to help the animals transform—some from terrible situations—to find their forever homes. My favorite thing is when I’m able to bring my own ARP alumnus Tank in to help some dogs build even more trust. It just makes it even more fulfilling since we’re able to learn more about the dogs to get them placed into the right homes.”

Animal Rescue Project

Animal Rescue Project focuses on saving at-risk pets in pound facilities. We save homeless pets, one at a time, give them medical care and a safe temporary home, and provide responsible adoption services to those seeking pets.
