You Can Help
It takes a village...to run a thriving pet rescue organization. A pet rescue organization is a community effort — and, when it stays true to its mission, a jewel in the crown of the community.
Volunteerism is our lifeblood and our most precious asset. We welcome your involvement in our mission, whether as an active volunteer, a donor, an adopter, or a well-wisher.
What you can do to help
We need your help, in whatever way best suits your time, your talents, your needs, and your preferences.
Become an Animal Rescue Project volunteer. Because we operate almost entirely on the time and talents of volunteers, we need help in many areas: dog and cat care and socialization, rescue work, foster care work, adoption counseling, clerical work, marketing and fund-raising...the list of tasks is long and full of opportunity for personal enrichment and growth.
Become an Animal Rescue Project supporter. Let’s face it, a rescue organization needs financial assistance to do the life-affirming work to which it is dedicated. We are most grateful for donations of any amount. We pledge that your dollars will be put to work entirely in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless pets.
Become an Animal Rescue Project adopter. The math of a rescue organization is very simple: for every pet we adopt, another pet is saved. Our space is limited. This means that when you choose to adopt a rescued pet, you are saving two lives: the life of your new family member, and the life of a second pet that can now be saved.
Become an Animal Rescue Project well-wisher and advocate. Follow our fortunes on the Animal Rescue Project Facebook and Twitter pages. Let your friends and family know about us. Send us your thoughts and prayers. Your well wishes will wing us along and strengthen our ability to do the life-affirming work to which we are dedicated.

Featured Cat
Sugar is a short haired adult Tiger cat. She is a medium size and is just perfect for someone to cuddle with! Although she’s a quiet cat, Sugar can usually be persuaded with a treat. Once she realizes she is in a safe environment, it doesn’t take long for this sweet girl to warm up to someone and roll over purring for a belly rub.
View Sugar's featured adoptable cat profile and Petfinder profile. To learn more about Sugar, contact us, or come to the shelter during open hours to meet him.
