Foster Home Needed Immediately for Cattle Dog Shelia

Shelia is an adoptable cattle dog staying in an Animal Rescue Project foster home. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home and likes to run and play. The other dog in her foster home needs to have surgery, though, and will need a few weeks of quiet time to recuperate. That means that Shelia needs to find another foster home as soon as possible. Featured Adoptable Dog: Ernie

An adult Shih Tzu rescued from the Allegan puppy mill, Ernie is loving and gentle. He is at least 8 years old and due to the poor conditions at the puppy mill, he can only see shadows, is bowlegged and walks slowly. Once he learns the lay of the land, his poor eyesight does not seem to be an issue and he no longer bumps into things. A fenced yard is ideal for Ernie, so he can be free to wander. Featured Dog: Harper

Beautiful with her tri-colored coat and trim build, Harper was born in about March 2011, making her just over a year old. She was rescued from a Southwest Michigan pound and came to us described as a Beagle mix. Our guess is that she’s an Australian Kelpie or perhaps a Kelpie, Basenji, Husky, or herding breed mix. Her strong prey drive might be a clue. Continue reading →

He’s white with black markings, including a spotted left ear, a distinct spot between his ears, and a black band near the base of his white tail. Featured dog: Roxie

Roxie is a medium-size young Labrador Retriever / Hound mix that came to us as a mama dog with her puppies. Her puppies have all been adopted, and Roxie is now waiting for her turn for a forever home. She’s very affectionate and sociable with other dogs as well as with people. Continue reading →
