Hunny is a beautiful fawn and white Pit Bull Mix. She is two years old and just as sweet as her name! At 43 pounds, she is the perfect size for cuddling which is one of her favorite things to do. Another one of Hunny’s favorite activities is exploring on walks outdoors. She is very excited to experience all of the smells and handles herself well when she runs into other critters out and about.
In addition to cuddles and walks, Hunny enjoys car rides. She can’t wait to hop into the
passenger seat and hang her head out of the cracked window to catch all of the sights and smells. She’s also very polite and doesn’t bark at people or animals as she passes by.
Hunny gets along with medium to large size dogs and is amazing with children. When she was the star at Pup of the Game for K Wings, she was nuzzled by up to ten kids at a time and was in heaven!
It would be best for Hunny to live in a home with no cats but she would be very happy in a home with other dogs her size and children to play with!
Always eager to please, Hunny responds well to commands and already knows how to “sit” and “lay down”. She doesn’t have issues with jumping up on people for attention because she’s figured out that she can get attention more easily with a “sit”!
You can meet Hunny at the shelter or at one of our adoption events. One look into her gorgeous eyes and she’ll be on her way home with you! For more information on Hunny and ARP adoption events, feel free to visit our website at http://www.animalrescueproject.org/.

Percival, it is hard to describe this Lovable dog, for the fact that he is moldable to many lifestyles. Percy (for short) is a delightful English Setter, who is 5 years young. He has been with the Animal Rescue Project shelter since May and has recently found a foster home where he is enjoying his new roommates and checking out new parks and walking trails.
He is a fun loving and interactive dog. The two things Percy loves to do the most are bird watching and riding in cars, no matter the destination. He would watch for birds 24-7 if he could, even when not outside, he will sit looking out any window just waiting for a bird to appear. He also enjoys almost any outdoor activities from walking, playing fetch, romping around in any body of water, or spending time with his human companion sitting and enjoying the outdoors.
He knows how to sit and will likely learn more commands quickly. Percy will play with toys, but beware he will eat rope toys. He loves to be brushed and happily greets any attention he receives.
Percy’s ideal forever home would be with an active family. He has done well around other dogs and little children. He does just fine on a long leash when he needs to go outside, but a fenced in yard would be better. Percival would make a wonderful companion for anyone who enjoys spending time outside. If this sweetie sounds like a good match for you, please ask about him today!
Joker is an exceptionally lovable and smart Aussie/Border Collie mix with a medium build. He came into his foster home with serious kennel stress but has overcome his anxiety and really opened up.
Due to his wise nature he approaches new friends at his own pace as he can be skeptical at first. Once his trust is gained, though, he makes an amazing companion!
Because he is such an active dog, Joker makes an excellent buddy for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. He loves the dog park, playing fetch and being a companion on walks. Joker has good recall and leash walking skills and responds well to training. When it’s time to cuddle though, he is the perfect sofa companion as well.
Currently Joker lives with two female Aussie/Border Collie mixes and two cats. He loves dogs and even likes cats. His manners are impeccable and he always plays appropriately with both. Squirrels on the other hand, he loves to chase in his fenced in back yard!
Joker prefers a calmer environment. He is afraid of thunder, fireworks, gunshots and sudden noises which is typical of Aussies and Border Collies. Joker would do best in a home without children or with older children who understand how to respect his sensitivities and boundaries.
Although he enjoys human company, Joker is house trained and can entertain himself alone in the house without incident. He is a wonderful dog who would add happiness to a family with older children or who would find pleasure as a loving farm dog.

Piglet is a beautiful white Pit Bull mix with hazel eyes. She is 50lb and can be expected to grow a little more since she is just 10 months old. Her Foster Mom rescued her from the Calhoun County Animal Shelter where she was brought in with several ailments; mange, skin allergies, a UTI and an upper respiratory infection. Through the amazing care of her Foster Family and the Animal Rescue Project, Piglet has made great strides.
Currently Piglet lives with a cat and three other dogs in her Foster home; another Pit Bull, a Lab/Sharpei and a Terrier. All of the dogs are accustomed to a daily routine. They eat and play very well together.
Piglet would be happiest in a home with another dog as a playmate and would benefit from regular exercise. She behaves well on leash and responds well to commands. In the future, she will require consistent treatment for her skin allergies.
You can meet Piglet at one of our Saturday adoption events. For more information on Piglet visit her profile or contact us.
Sugar is a short haired adult Tiger cat. She is a medium size and is just perfect for someone to cuddle with! Although she’s a quiet cat, Sugar can usually be persuaded with a treat.
Once she realizes she is in a safe environment, it doesn’t take long for this sweet girl to warm up to someone and roll over purring for a belly rub.
Each month Sugar receives a shot to help with her allergies which will need to be maintained after her adoption.
She would do best as the sole cat in the household as she likes to have a lot of attention.
Sugar would also be happiest in a home with no dogs or small children since she prefers a calmer environment.
You can meet Sugar at our shelter during open hours. For more information on Sugar, visit her profile or contact us
